The Empire State Section was chartered in 1938. In 2010, the Empire State section merged with New York Canadian PIMA, creating the Empire State TAPPI-PIMA section. Our geographic boundaries include: New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Ontario, and Quebec.

Empire State TAPPI-PIMA hosts an annual conference on current and advanced technology and equipment with a focus on specialty paper mills.

Our sponsored student chapter is State University of New York College of Environmental Science & Forestry (SUNY ESF).

Empire State TAPPI-PIMA offers the William E. Clarke Memorial Scholarship and the Grant and Heidi Cole Scholarship annually. The deadline to apply is December 31. For more information, please contact the Scholarship Chair for details.
